(EN) In Between Human is a collaboration with Korean artist Yena Kim. They had the idea to make a ceramic sculpture without using their hands. This series of photos is a documentation of the creation of the sculpture and forms the final work. Visual artist Laury Hooghuis has used Yena Kim as a means of creating the sculpture. The surrender of her as a human being can be seen through the repetition of the images and the subtle change of her psyche. Using the deformable material and man as a means, Laury explored the place between matter and mind.
(NL) Het project In Between Human van Laury Hooghuis is een samenwerking met de koreaanse kunstenaar Yena Kim. Ze hadden als idee om een sculptuur van keramiek te maken zonder gebruik te maken van hun handen. Deze serie foto’s is een documentatie van de totstandkoming van de sculptuur en vormt het uiteindelijke werk. Beeldende kunstenaar Laury Hooghuis heeft Yena Kim als middel gebruikt voor de creatie van het sculptuur. De overgave van haar als mens is te zien door de herhaling van de beelden en de subtiele verandering van haar geest. Door het vervormbare materiaal en de mens als middel te gebruiken onderzocht Laury de plek tussen materie en geest.
